FIND OUT WHICH MISSIONS MINISTRY RECIEVED THE LATEST DONATION FROM BROWN LIKE COFEE BOOK SALES!

Here is a description of some spring break mission trips taken by RUF. They received our first $1000 from BLC profits, and this is what they used the money for.

University of Texas (Campus Minister: Benjie Slaton)

Serving in KwaMhlanga, South Africa March 7-15 (Spring Break)

They will serve with a ministry called Masibambisane Community Development Centre (MCDC). Masibambisane is the Zulu word for “let’s bear one another’s burdens.” MCDC serves the South African people in many ways. There is a college called Mukanyo Theological Seminary that trains African men to become pastors. There are also day care centers, where children who have been identified as orphaned or vulnerable receive love from the staff that nurtures them physically, spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually. Another component of MCDC is the step-down facility (hospice) where a sister (nurse) and caregivers provide nutritional, medical, emotional, and spiritual support for adults who have become too weak to take care of themselves or who have been abandoned by family.

(They will have the opportunity to see God's kingdom through this ministry as well as serve God's kingdom as we particpate, help, and encourage those already laboring at MCDC.)

University of Georgia (Campus Minister: Rob Edwards)

This will be our fourth year taking students from the University of Georgia to Belize over Spring Break (March 8-15).

This year we have 26 students participating. We will be working at a Christian highschool in Corozal, this year laying the foundation for another building as the school expands. Each year we've been able to see the work progress, and how others have built on what we have done the previous year. In the afternoons, we go to the village of Christo Rey and minister to the children through backyard Bible clubs and in the evening spend time with some of the older children and parents. It's been a great opportunity for our students to serve and see God at work in a culture different from our own as he builds his church.
