One Short-Termers' Story from Jordan this Summer
- Conversations. We had great conversations with well over 50 people and we connected five Jordanians with individuals staying long-term. These five will, Lord-willing, be part of the foundation for this movement to spread!
- Dreams/visions. We had numerous conversations with people who told us about their dreams/visions of Jesus! One man, Abu Anas said, “Jesus is the most powerful. The most beautiful. His face was brilliant and his hair looked wet (like someone anointed).” We were surrounded by thousands of men with huge beards, prayer caps and long white robes. It looked like we were at a slumber party but in reality we were attending an Islamic Missions Conference held annually in Amman, Jordan. Representatives from countries around the world come to attend...and the three of us that went were openly welcomed and warmly received. We were respected for our beliefs and devotion to continually seek after the Kingdom of God. We talked about Jesus, the Bible, the crucifixion and many other topics we all had common interest in.
- Pajama Party. We slept over in the mosque (with them still in their long white robes) and then at 4:30am we woke up with them to pray. One man in particular, whose name was Ahmed, was really interested in truth and the Scriptures so we were able to give him an Arabic version of the New Testament! The whole experience was a beautiful picture of what it looks like to attempt to understand one another instead of debating and automatically causing conflict to arise.
- Pray the relationships will continue with the long term workers.
